What this policy covers
This policy is about this website, and about the enquiries you send us using the contact details on it. The records of learners who have joined the school are kept under the school's own policies and the law, and we explain those to families at admission.
What this website collects on its own
Very little. The website has no accounts, no forms, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or social-media trackers. Its fonts and photos are served from our own site, not from third parties.
- Hosting logs. The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., a company in the United States. Like any web host, Vercel's servers briefly record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, your browser type and the pages you open, to keep the site secure and running. Vercel holds these logs under its own privacy policy. We do not use them to identify visitors.
- Your own device. If you close the yellow announcement bar at the top of the site, your browser remembers that choice on your device so the bar stays closed. Nothing about it is sent to us.
When you contact us
If you call, WhatsApp, email or visit us, we receive whatever you choose to share. Usually that is your name, your phone number or email address, your child's name and age or class, and your questions. We use it to answer you, to arrange a visit and, if you apply, to handle your child's admission.
We do not sell your information or share it for marketing. We share it only with people who help us run the school and are bound to keep it confidential, or where the law requires us to.
Photos of learners and staff
The photos on this site show real life at our school. We publish photos of learners only with the permission of their parents or guardians, we do not publish a learner's full name alongside their photo, and we blur names on any documents, such as certificates, that appear in a photo.
If you would like a photo of your child, or of yourself, taken off the website, contact us using the details above and we will remove it promptly.
Links to other services
Some buttons take you to other companies' services: "WhatsApp us" opens WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), and "Get directions" opens Google Maps (Google). Once you are there, their privacy policies apply, not ours. Calling or emailing us uses the phone and email apps on your own device.
Where your information is kept
The website itself is served from Vercel's servers outside Kenya. Enquiries you send us are held on the school's phones, in our email account and in our office. Some of the providers behind these services store information outside Kenya; we use providers with strong security and privacy commitments, and we share with them only what is needed to provide the service.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up. If your child joins the school, they become part of the admission record; if not, we delete them once they are no longer needed.
- Hosting logs: briefly, by Vercel, as described above.
- Photos: for as long as they are on the website, or until you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- be told how we use your personal information (this page);
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need;
- object to how we use your information; and
- where it applies, ask us to pass your information to another organisation.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond as quickly as we can, and within the time the law allows. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to theOffice of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Children
This website is written for parents, guardians and other adults. It offers nothing for children to sign up to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. The information we hold about learners comes from their parents or guardians when they enquire or apply.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the website or the school handles personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
